Seorak-san
Korea’s most beautiful and best-loved National Park, is actually the southern half of the fabled Diamond Mountains now in North Korea. Situated on the east coast of Gangwon Province just below the DMZ, the “Snowy-peaks Mountains” (named after the Himalayas) feature spectacular craggy peaks and valleys. This dramatic landscape was once a significant center of Korean Buddhism, and he is still host to several famous monasteries founded in the 7th Century CE, including Shinheung-sa. This park draws more than 3 million tourists per year.
